Customization
In GatzBcn we offer a series of embellishments to customize your journal, to make it more unique and personal to you. In the following images, you will see a series of examples with detailed explanations of this artisan work. If you are interested in some customization, don’t forget to check out the customization listing, where you can order your favorite personalization for your journal.
Embossing
The process of embossing, also known as blind tooling, consists of pressing a stamp on the wet leather, so a figure forms on the leather.
Please note, that due to its intrinsic characteristics, embossing is not possible on the spine of the Ethiopian journals.

Gilding
Gilding is similar to embossing, but it adds a spark of golden color on your leather. The tool is heated and then pressed on the leather with a layer of golden foil to create the decorated image.
Unfortunately, gilding on the spine is currently not possible for technical reasons.

Inlays
Charms provide color to a journal. The pieces are inserted on a space reserved for them on the cover. Some of them even “pop up”, giving some relief to the journal.
You can choose one of the charms available to be inserted on the front cover of your journal. Some of the charms are unique.
